Checksums
For every published version of Biwak, this page lists the SHA-256 checksum of the file delivered. You can use it to verify that the downloaded file is byte for byte the one we published — regardless of whether the operating system’s signature check kicks in.

Verify it yourself
On macOS, in Terminal:
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/Biwak.dmg
On Windows, in PowerShell:
Get-FileHash .\Biwak-Setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256
The output must match the checksum in the table character for character. Upper and lower case don’t matter, everything else does: if a single character differs, it isn’t our file — so please don’t open it, and drop us a line.
Why in addition to the signature
The operating system’s signature answers the question “does this come from whoever signed it?”. It does not answer whether exactly this version was intended. A published checksum is the second, independent route: it is on this page, not in the file, and anyone swapping the file in transit would also have to swap this page.
If you notice anything — a checksum that doesn’t match, or a file that shouldn’t exist here — the way to report it is in /.well-known/security.txt.
This page is added to with every release, never overwritten.
